By participating in THE ANTI DEPRESSION RETREAT PLUS WITH EEG AND PRIVATE APPOINTMENT, you will receive, in person, 4 hours of additional training to online videos and 4 hours of experimentation of the daily practical exercises, under the guidance of experts. You will have an electroencephalogram (EEG) to better define your brain profile and receive a personalized action plan according to your unique brain activity. After the retreat, you will receive 12 sessions of private online coaching. For 30 days, you will have access to a downloadable book of daily exercises and will have access to 30 educational videos to help you better understand how your actions reshape your brain to an improved, happier, more serene and functional version of yourself.
In THE ANTI DEPRESSION RETREAT PLUS WITH EEG AND PRIVATE APPOINTMENT, we do not see you as having an illness to treat. Instead, we help you train 4 brain abilities that can naturally reduce your depressive symptoms.
The first ability you will develop is your brain circuit for motivation & passion. Placing yourself in a happy and excited state keeps your brain energy in this circuit. This prevents it from being diverted to others that produce sadness, anxiety or worry.
The 2nd ability you will train will be the executive functions. They allow to keep your calm and your focus. Too often, when we feel bad, we are destabilized by thoughts and emotions that are often negative.
The third capacity developed is the improvement of serotonin production. It is a neurotransmitter that controls, among other things, mood, stress levels, the need to eat, sleep and libido. The amount of serotonin produced is negatively affected by stress, sedentary lifestyle, lack of sleep or nutrients.
The 4th force developed is your neuroplasticity. It's the power of the brain to transform itself to do even better what you ask it to do. In depression, neuroplasticity is slowed, both in the number of new connections that develop between neurons and new neurons that are born each day. The consequence is that we have more difficulty memorizing and learning. And over time, the brain loses its volume, as if it were aging rapidly.

Description: Retreat including 4 hours of theoretical training and 4 hours of practical exercises, your EEG and a private one hour meeting. Duration of web coachings: The 2 first coaching sessions are of 45 minutes. The 10 other coaching sessions are of 20 minutes. Important: The non-booking of meetings, in total or in part, makes them unavailable after the 30 days of the program.
Web coaching schedule : at the time of your coaching session, you use the web link that was sent via email to meet with your coach. He will be present via video camera. For your privacy, you have the option to activate or not the camera of your computer.

This retreat is given by Francine Therrien, Ph.D. and based on her doctoral thesis. Adults diagnosed with depression were subjected to a mental performance program, without medication and without psychotherapy. All participants were declared non depressive after eight weeks of program participation, and no relapse was reported three years after the end of the study. The ANTI DEPRESSION program could be used as a preventive measure, both for the purpose of performance and the prevention of depressions, burn-out and anxiety disorders.
Francine Therrien, Ph.D., has spent ten years researching non-drug methods for brain optimization, neuroplasticity and non-drug treatment of major depression (Ph.D. thesis, Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences of the University of Sherbrooke). Since 1990, she has been an active speaker and consultant in organizational mental performance, mental health, global health and the prevention of absenteeism. She has been practicing since 2001 as a EEG based brain health private coach for mental health and cognitive issues, as well as a EEG based brain performance private coach for professional athletes and CEOs.
She holds diplomas in Kinesiology (B.Sc.), Physical Education (B.Sc.), Global Health Kinesiology (M.Sc.), Clinical Research (Ph.D.), Naturopathy (N.D.), Ergonomics, Biofeedback, Heart Rate Variability, Neurofeedback (certified Mentor EEG-BCIA), Reconnective Healing (Level 3) and has numerous trainings in Anti-Aging Medicine, Neurocoaching and other complimentary approaches.
